Dear Friends,

Hey! Alan here.

Just want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share with you the experiences I've had dancing to salsa and how I came to enjoy teaching it.

Unlike other professional salsa instructors who owns a dance studio and have been in the professional dance competition for years and years - I'm just an average guy who's got the utmost passion and love for dancing, and that's Salsa. Though I am associated with some competitive ballroom dancers and currently involve in a popular salsa performance team, dancing in the competition level was not something I ever got into. Like most guys, I started taking salsa dance lessons because I was persuaded by a co-worker.

In all honesty, I started taking salsa lessons because I was promised of delicious foods and beautiful women! I figured why not? Food; women; what more can I ask for? Right Guys?

And like most guys I struggled with it for a while and stepped on my shares of feet. However, little by little, two left feet and a little bit of practice, I became a pretty good dancer.

Since then, I not only had many extensive trainings, but have also met a tonne of wonderful salsa dancers and made amazing friends along the way. It is also then that I developed my own passion for salsa dancing.

And I soon decided to start teaching my friends and family a step or two. Even choreographed the most memorable surprised gift for my eldest-sister's wedding, which was a dance performance with my elder-sister.

Ahh, the memories...

Now it's time to give back - share the passion and the amazing experiences to those wanting to learn how to dance salsa, and to the "salsa addicts".

Through the years I had the opportunity to do dance shows for parties, teach at numerous places, and different company events. Eventually, I went out on my own and started teaching private salsa lessons and group classes.

That's exactly what I did... with women young and old, tall and short, beginner to advance dancers. Constantly learning new styles, patterns, musicality, etc.

From as much as what I can remember, I was learning and dancing 15 - 20 hours a week - just from the salsa classes and taking part on the social dancing, salsa congress events, and the many latin nightclubs. Yes, I was addicted to salsa.

More importantly, I was able to see for myself what kind of dance styles and teaching techniques works best for different types of people. I will admit... still to this day, I learn something new about dancing and teaching just about every time I step on the dance floor.

I believe learning is a never ending process, and practice, practice, practice makes perfect.

But probably like most of you, as you can see by now, I'm not a natural born dancer by any means. I struggled through learning this salsa thing more than an average person would.

As a matter of fact, what I teach new dance students to successfully do in 4 to 8 weeks... have taken me at least 4 months to learn when I first started.

I will tell you something else though, before my co-worker persuaded me, I thought that these type of dancing, specially latin, or swing and ballroom were dances only what my parents and grandparents do - if you catch my drift. I mean, hello, this is the modern era after all - who would want to learn that.

BUT, BOY OH BOY, was I wrong!

Okay listen, if you're a guy reading this right now, remember what my sneaky co-worker promised me in the beginning of this letter... just between you and me, I'm going to share with you what I discovered...

Discovery #1 : aside from ladies preferring a guy who is confident - ladies prefer a guy who knows how to dance. hint-hint!

Discovery #2 : Most dance classes, social dance events usually has 4 women for every 1 guy! You won't believe this but... even some latin night clubs tend to have more women than guys. It's certainly a good problem to have, right guys?

Discovery #3 : Dancing is one of the best ways to build rapport with women. It's about building a mutual relationship of trust. Learning to dance teaches you how to listen, respect, love and appreciate yourself and others.

Latin dancing is so popular right now even the most popular hip hop clubs have special nights strictly for latin dancing.

Give it a chance guys. In fact, prove it to yourself. I promise,
you won't regret it. I'm living testimony that anyone CAN learn how to dance. Yes, including YOU - and that you can take it as far as you want to. If my co-worker hadn't tricked me into salsa dancing, I wouldn't have come to experience this wonderful style of dance.

I truly want to share my dance experiences with you, teach you fun and exciting dance steps, and
motivating you to achieve your personal dance goals.

At the same time, you will discover that dancing is not only fun, but a great way to meet new "friends" and a fun social activity that you can enjoy dancing together.

Thank you for visiting my site... there's no fancy website slogan, no sales pitch, but my name, Alan Almirol. I'm not selling salsa classes - I'm in the business of teaching others how to dance salsa; and share with you the
joy of dance like I've experienced and still experiencing in my life and so have many others around the world. Salsa Dancing is for people of all ages.

I hope I gave you enough details about my background... Again, thank you, and feel free to ask me any questions you want...

See You On The Dance Floor!

Sincerely,

- Alan Almirol
